The topic of evidence in criminal proceedings rightfully occupies a leading place, since the basis of criminal proceedings is public interest, accordingly, the issues of punishment for a crime committed cannot be arbitrary, depending on someone's whim. Accordingly, the punishment imposed by the court for the committed crime can be fair and correspond to the severity of the committed crime only if the guilt of the person being brought to criminal responsibility is fully proven. Currently, there is a scientific discussion about the number of elements in the structure of evidence, and it is proposed to introduce a new elementthe study of evidence.
