The article substantiates the relevance of the study of crimes committed using information and communication technologies, in particular, fraud committed using Internet services for posting advertisements. The essence of this category of crimes is revealed, its fundamental features are defined: remoteness, complete mediation and a high degree of artificial latency. Based on the analysis of criminal case materials and investigation practice, the author identified and systematized the most characteristic methods of committing these acts, and also distinguished the crimes in question from violations of a civil law nature.
