The article reveals the problems of ensuring the admissibility of information obtained by the defender during the interrogation of persons with their voluntary consent. When writing the article, the goal was to analyze the requirements of the law for the results of the defender's interrogation, as well as for the investigator who receives the results of the interrogation. The result was the conclusion that the investigator should evaluate the materials provided by the defender, which contain the results of the interrogation, for their relevance, but they can only do this after involving them in the criminal proceedings and drafting an appropriate document (such as a submission protocol), which is currently not provided for by the criminal procedure legislation
