This article highlights some aspects of the functions of the State. Approaches to defining the concept of functions and their significance in the existence of the state are considered. Such functions as security, economic, social, environmental, and international cooperation are not just analyzed, but modern ways of implementing these functions are determined. In addition, the perspective functions of the state are highlighted, due to the peculiarities of the current stage of development. Among such functions in this article are the functions of accelerating economic development, digitalization and innovation, and managing society.
