The article is devoted to the current and causing a lot of theoretical and practical issues topic, dedicated to telephone fraud and proper procedural documentation in connection with the verification of reports of such crimes. Currently, there is no effective mechanism for both the verification of reports of such crimes, and their effective investigation. The author examined and analyzed the existing problematic issues both from the person of the victim of the crime, and the existing shortcomings in the mechanism of verification of their statements by law enforcement officials. It seems that only by properly documenting all necessary actions and decisions can errors be avoided.
