This article examines the specifics of administrative liability of legal entities in the context of its purpose and functions, which acquire special meaning given the specific nature of the subject (legal entity) within the mechanism of control (supervisory) activities. Several functions of administrative liability of legal entities are considered. The special significance of the preventive function of administrative liability of legal entities is noted, which is confirmed by the continued preventive focus of control (supervisory) activities in recent years. The compensatory function, which involves compensating the costs of eliminating the negative consequences of an administrative offense committed by a legalentity, is becoming increasingly important within the framework of the administrative liability of legal entities.
