The article is devoted to the study of the problem of legal nihilism as a component of marginal lawful behavior, which is a significant obstacle to the effective functioning of modern legal consciousness of Russian society. The article analyzes the historical origins, reveals the nature of this phenomenon, highlights the main reasons for its occurrence and current forms of manifestation, internal and external factors contributing to the spread of legal nihilism. Attention is focused on the need to develop adequate strategies to overcome legal nihilism as a component of marginal behavior, specific recommendations are given aimed at improving the legal culture of the population. Theoretical approaches tounderstanding the essence of legal nihilism are considered, a critical review of the arguments of its adherents is given and practical steps are proposed to neutralize its negative consequences.
